Dragonhawk: OK, can everyone actually see the map now?
Jamshid par-Bahadur: the Ruined Keep?
Malaina: ((Yes))
Dragonhawk: Yeah, so-called. I don’t know how to fix the name, and it’s a minor issue.
Grok: ((well, grok can see a small section of it…))
Dragonhawk: ((is it a section that contains Grok?))
Malaina: ((That is a big section then))
Grok: ((kinda. Grok bulges out.))
Dragonhawk: ((heh. Grok is bigger than the original inhabitants))

  • Grok smash down walls to make more room for Grok
Grok: ((so, just out of curiousity, is there anything more back here, or is Grok in a corner?
Grok smashed a door open and sees that the hallway on the other side collapsed long ago.
  • Seiankornai looks around for that sound
Dragonhawk: ((ei, it wasn’t always a corner but it is now.))
  • Grok looks for something to drop over the side.
    Grok: ((hey look, there’s Jamshid!))
Seiankornai: ((I don’t think he’d appreciate being dropped at this time))
    Malaina: ((lol))
    Grok: ((So?))
Grok and Jamshid are on the third main level of the tower. Malaina, Vari, Jessaila, and Thurirl are on the 2nd level, where a door leads to a ramp into the courtyard. Isabis and Seian are in the courtyard
    Dragonhawk: Seiankornai: spot check
    Seiankornai: ((« 1d20+3 = 18 + 3 = 21 » Search]))
Seiankornai spots several…little rubble monsters, full of gnarled branches and chunks and shards of lihm-crystal from the broken sections of the tower.
Seiankornai: “Odd, do you see those, Isabis?”
  • Isabis looks
    Isabis: “Thistle-stones!”
Seiankornai: “We’ve got little rubble monster things down here” shouts the big monstrous drake
  • Malaina wonders if they should find the others
    Seiankornai: ((do thye look aggressive?))
  • Garamat looks at Seian
    Jessaila: “Did you hear Seian?”
Grok: W “Do they taste good?” shouts Grok back.
Seiankornai: W “I have no idea, I don’t eat rocks.”
  • Garamat hisses and extends broken-crystal “claws”
Malaina: “Yea, I did, let’s go see what he is talking about.”
  • Garamat makes a Very Loud Sound – kind of like nails on a chalkboard, but even more painful to the ears.
Seiankornai: ((it’ll probably take you a little while to get down here, if we go into rounds))
Grok: ((How high up is Grok?))
Garamat: ((OK, unless you rode on Vari, launched yourself from one level, and FLEW down, you can’t be there ))
    Jessaila: ((Oh. ))
  • Isabis makes room for people coming down the ramp behind her as she unlimbers her whip
Grok: ((Grok is considering that falling down thing.))
  • Malaina hops off Vari’s saddle and helps Jess down
Seiankornai: ((looks like if Grok jumps out an east window, if there is one, he could aim for the critter ))
Garamat: ((If you want to jump down that doorway you broke a minute ago, you’d fall 1 story in the first leap and two in the second, and land north-ish of Seian))
    Grok: “Grokomo!”
  • Malaina thinks she hears a very loud voice coming from above
Grok lands on the exposed section of the lower story, where the tower walls are broken down to crystaline rubble (no doubt the rest of said rubble has been incorported into the little ruin-haunts below)
    Garamat: ((fallin 15 feet))
  • Jamshid par-Bahadur examines the level he is on
  • Jessaila draws her weapons.
Garamat: Grok acrobatics check to reduce « 2d6 = 5 » falling damage
  • Malaina unhooks her Halberd
Garamat: next leap will require the same to reduce « 3d6 = 11 » falling damage ((both vs. 20 for half damage))
    Malaina: ((Hehehe)
Garamat: ((you will land somewhere in this area, your choice – pointing))
Malaina: ((Can he land on one of those things?))
Grok: ((it will be an auto failure, so I take 2d6 damage. And can I see the things from where I am now?))
Garamat: ((He can make an acro…no, I’ll be nice and let him make a ranged attack check to hit Garamat 13 if he wants to))
Grok: ((My point is if I can see them from here, I can throw stuff from here, no need to get down one more level.))
Garamat: ((Oh. Spot check vs 15 to identify the moving bits of the rubble.))
    Malaina: ((All of us?))
    Grok: Grok spot « 1d20+8 = 7 + 8 = 15 »
    Grok: ((those bits of rubble?))
Garamat: ((anyone who wants to act this round before they start attackign you in earnest ))
Garamat: ((yeah, Grock can throw stuff at them.))
Malaina: ((Spot check…that is Notice, right?))
  • Grok throws javelins at them.
  • Garamat 13 looks up to see what that crunching and yelling was, and sees pointy things falling from the sky! « 1d3 = 1 » stress damage
Garamat: ((Malaina, ye…no. earch, technically, since you are actively looking for them))
Seiankornai: ((notice is passive awareness, search is active awareness, but you’re probably already aware, since Seian shouted it))
Grok: ((let me know if I should make attack rolls))
Garamat: ((Grok attack roll; anyone else who intends to attack in the surprise round go as you’re ready; everyone roll init for after that))
  • Garamat init « 1d20+4 = 18 + 4 = 22 » « 1d20+4 = 1 + 4 = 5 »
    Grok: Grok throws a javilin at the enemy! « 1d20+11 = 17 + 11 = 28 » to hit for « 1d10+8 = 10 + 8 = 18 » damage
    Grok: Grok throws a javilin at the enemy! « 1d20+11 = 8 + 11 = 19 » to hit for « 1d10+8 = 8 + 8 = 16 » damage
    Seiankornai: init « 1d20+5 = 2 + 5 = 7 »
    Grok: Grok acts quickly, with a roll of « 1d20+7 = 14 + 7 = 21 »
    Garamat: ((attacking #13, Grok?))
    Grok: no,
Grok: the one farthest east. Can’t see number
    Grok: yes
    Grok: farthest south too
    Garamat: ((83, then))
Grok: ((-1 to both attack rolls for longer range))
Dragonhawk: Grok hits in surprise round
    Dragonhawk: *Garamat 13 saves for « 1d20+5 = 15 + 5 = 20 » vs 10
    *Garamat 83 saves for « 1d20+5 = 6 + 5 = 11 » vs 17
The Garamat in the corner makes an even louder and more terrible screeching sound, and then falls apart into ordinary ruin rubble.
    Isabis: init « 1d20+6 = 2 + 6 = 8 »
Dragonhawk: ((everyone else planning to fight, or are we running away?))
    Grok: ((Grok fighting))
    Malaina: « 1d20+8 = 17 + 8 = 25 » Malaina and Vari’s Initiative
    Jessaila: ((Am presuming we’re fighting.))
Seiankornai: ((should roll init then ))
  • Jessaila springs into action. « 1d20+13 = 12 + 13 = 25 » Initiative.
Dragonhawk: ((Grok, seian, and Isabis have all rolled init…everyone else is standing frozen in place ))
Malaina: ((So Vari can go breath ze fires?))
    Seiankornai: ((yes, roll init))
    Malaina: ((Already did))
    Dragonhawk: ((one moment))
Answering shrieks reveal that the outbuildings here also contain garamats. You may not all know, but Jessaila surely does: Garamats are never friendly. This will be interesting.
    Dragonhawk: Mala and Vari
    Malaina has received initiative.
    Vari: « 1d20+3 = 19 + 3 = 22 » Fire Breath
    Dragonhawk: hit

  • Garamat 13 saves for « 1d20+5 = 3 + 5 = 8 » vs 12
A couple more garamats skitter out of the stables, only to be stopped short by Vari’s threatening bulk.
Malaina: ((Vari is in the air you know))
Garamat: ((oh, I didn’t know. How high?))
    Seiankornai: ((threatening shadow then? ))
    Malaina: ((20ft))
Garamat: ((and suddenly I’m remembering that I told people to use a blue halo for flight. Hmm. Memory.))
    …by Malaina’s threatening presence
    Unresolved value “which”.

Malaina: “Seian, Vari, hit that thing with fire, it seems to be vurnerable!”
