Malaina has connected.
Host has connected.
Seiankornai has connected.
Jessaila has connected.
Grok has connected.
Seiankornai: greetings

Thurirl has connected.
Grok: Greetings, dragonfiend

Dragonhawk:

Grok: darn, changes when you leave out the r, doesn’t it

Seiankornai: heh

Malaina: Hey Grok, I just switched to a feat that could possibly give you an extra attack!

Seiankornai: I’m not sure many dragons would be offended, actually

Grok: nice! what feat is that?

Seiankornai: and both with and without the r can apply

Dragonhawk: no, no, dragons would be HIGHLY offended

Malaina: it’s called Coordinated Attack, Mala would do a full round action to let any of her allies that can see and hear her to let them make a standard attack

Dragonhawk: fiends are unholy by definition

Malaina: i am going be working up my way up the Coordinated feat tree

Malaina: the last one lets me let 2 allies do that

Grok: that takes all your turn, though

Malaina: yea, but if someone is at a better point to attack then Mala, then I will take it

Grok: i mean, it’s great for Isabis, but not you

Seiankornai: she knows

Dragonhawk: hah

Seiankornai: but this way she can be the boss and people will do what she says

Malaina: lol

Grok: she’s the gm. of course she’s the boss

Dragonhawk: It’s a strategic feat, I can’t be doing the strategy for BOTH sides of the battle

Malaina: well, she would have to pantomime to Grok if she gives him that Standard attack

Dragonhawk: and it beats the feat that is only useful when ambushing

Seiankornai: I figure she just gives Grok The Look, and he knows, whether he’s looking at her or not

Grok: I actually was thinking of making a halfling with the coordinated feat line, and action dice feats.

Dragonhawk: because as we al knows, Grok doesn’t do “hide and wait”

Thurirl: That is my function.

Thurirl: Please do not steal it.

Grok: if you want Grok to wait, let him fall asleep.

Malaina: lol

Seiankornai: anyway, I believe we are all here except for Jamshid

Dragonhawk: indeed

Malaina: will he be battling with us?

Grok: and if you find a nice hiding place to sleep, all the better.

Seiankornai: or invent the magic version of a gameboy?

Grok: I can’t do anything about the snoring, though

When the door opens, you have mere moments to take in several things:
Many skeletons, already moving towards you…
Grok: WCHARRRRGE!”

Malaina: “Well, that didn’t take long.”

Seiankornai: “Uh, I think we found plenty of bones for your pack, Thurirl…”

One wight with burning eyes
one desecrated altar in the background
Jessaila: “Bowling for Skeletons.”

Thurirl: “I would prefer not to feed them contaminated food.”

  • Jessaila draws her saber.
    Dragonhawk: init
  • Malaina gets her halberd ready
Grok: ((Grok senses a secret door!))
Malaina: « 1d20+10 = 16 + 10 = 26 » Malaina and Vari’s Initiative Grok: Grok acts quickly, with a roll of « 1d20+9 = 6 + 9 = 15 »

Dragonhawk: (( doh ))

Seiankornai: Init « 1d20+7 = 8 + 7 = 15 »

  • Jessaila springs into action. « 1d20+13 = 9 + 13 = 22 » Initiative.
Grok: btw, what living creatures anywhere live one room away from an undead horde?

Grok: besides necromancers, that is

Dragonhawk: A) The main hall is a guard post, not a living area

Dragonhawk: B) They escaped the cronist army and took up in the nearest place they could manage to claim

Seiankornai: ((if you think you can design a better dungeon ecology, go ahead ))

Grok: ((it’s hard with preset maps, that’s for sure

Thurirl: Initiative: « 1d20+8 = 10 + 8 = 18 »

Dragonhawk: C) Suckerable sunchasers don’t come down here just every year you know. They’re working on it.

Seiankornai has received initiative.
Malaina: ((I think I rolled a 26, not a 20))

Seiankornai: ((yeah, DH just needs to replace the old init order))

Malaina: ((Ahhh, okie dokie))

Dragonhawk: Isabis: « 1d20+7 = 20 + 7 = 27 » Skeletons « 1d20+6 = 9 + 6 = 15 » Wight « 1d20+6 = 9 + 6 = 15 »

Grok: ((I’ll handle the one on the wight…))

Malaina: ((The puns…)

Seiankornai has received initiative.
Dragonhawk: ((oh dear, I’m going first…))

  • Isabis comes down the stairs, looks into the room, and groans. “No more trying to shoot skeletons…this time I’m using my whip.”
    Jamshid par-Bahadur has received initiative.
    Isabis has received initiative.
    Malaina has received initiative.
    Malaina
Grok: ((technically, since I have a higher init score, shouldn’t I be going before the wight?))

Dragonhawk: (to be clear, Isabis uses her second action to ready her less usual weapon))

Malaina: ((Can I delay until Grok moves in or Seian moves him out of the way?))

Seiankornai whispers: ((/me refrains from making a comment regarding Isabis with a whip that would get jelly beans thrown in his direction))
Dragonhawk: ((Grok is right; corrected))

Malaina: ((So he can charge in, fists flying))

Seiankornai: ((Mala: you can delay, yes))

Malaina: ((Then I delay))

Dragonhawk: ((until when?))

Dragonhawk: (Oh, I see. sorry))

Jessaila has received initiative.
Jessaila: ((Hmm.))

Jessaila: ((I can dash past Grok and get to work on the enemy?))

Seiankornai: ((yeah, you can move through friendly spaces))

Dragonhawk: ((yes, as long as you’re not literally trying to u se a run action))

  • Jessaila takes a run and vaults over Grok’s head, somersaulting through the doorway to launch a flying saber attack on a skeleton.
Behind you, the dwarf comments, “We think the guy in all the carvings died in there. Feel free to have all the fun you can, but don’t stand in the doorway – it’s against the rules to keep it open.”
    Jessaila: ((Attacking 400.))
  • Jessaila strikes with elfin speed and her fencing sabre. « 1d20+7 = 19 + 7 = 26 » tohit, « 1d10 = 9 » for damage. Touche! (If your target is a standard character with a lower Dexterity score than yours, he immediately fails his Damage save. 1/round.)
  • Jessaila then strikes out at 848 with a laugh of elfin Contempt.
  • Jessaila strikes with elfin speed and her fencing sabre. « 1d20+7 = 4 + 7 = 11 » tohit, « 1d10 = 7 » for damage.
Dragonhawk: ((Jessaila I offer you a gamble: roll acrobatics vs 18 to literally make a flying attack. If you win, you do full damage in spite of the fact you attacked a skeleton with a slashing weapon. If you lose, you still hit but fumble the landing and end your turn prone. ))

Jessaila: ((Oh, so done.))

Jessaila: It’s a good thing she’s flexible. « 1d20+13 = 10 + 13 = 23 » Acrobatics.

Dragonhawk: ((hit, and a bonus action die for sheer cool factor))

Jessaila: ((Sweet!))

Seiankornai: ((nice))

Malaina: ((cool!))
  • Skeleton 400 saves for « 1d20+7 = 18 + 7 = 25 » vs 14
    Grok: what is their dex?

Skeleton: ((missed 848))

Jessaila: ((Does Touche not affect these skeletons?))

Skeleton: ((oh, that thing. Ah…Hmm. Yes they have lower dex, but…a fenching feat? On skeletons?))

Grok: ((raw vs logic…))

Malaina: ((Very few of us have blunt weapons))
  • Seiankornai watches as Jessaila sores over Grok, sticks her fencing blade right in the eye socket of a skeleton, and flicks the head right off.
Skeleton: ((Well it works this time obviously. Tell you what. As often as you want to use that, you have to describe a NEW way to crit a skeleton with the required weapon ))

Jessaila: ((Deal!))

Thurirl has received initiative.

  • Thurirl wonders if he shouldn’t just call his pack over anyway… then again, not much meat in the room from what he can see, and most of it’s rotten.
  • Dragonhawk does not offer bonus XP for good roleplaying…but sometimes she offers bonus other-things
  • Wight is remarkably well-preserved, thank you very much. Tasty, not so much…
Thurirl: “I shall have to find a better variety of equipment, and a way to store it, to deal with situations such as these.”

Seiankornai: “You’ve got a tail, that should be adequat.”

Thurirl: “It shall have to do.”
  • Thurirl decides it is perhaps best to let the ogre pass first… however, he may need encouragement, or protection…
Grok: ((i’m reading that as delaying, so…))
  • Grok smashes 827 and 280
    Grok: Grok smashes the foe down with brute strength! « 1d20+13 = 12 + 13 = 25 » for « 1d4+10 = 1 + 10 = 11 » damage
Grok: Grok smashes the foe down with brute strength! « 1d20+13 = 16 + 13 = 29 » for « 1d4+10 = 3 + 10 = 13 » damage

Grok: ((done))

  • Skeleton 927 saves for « 1d20+7 = 9 + 7 = 16 » vs 15
Thurirl: ((crap, I meant to cast a spell))

Skeleton: ((go next then))

Malaina: ((Can I go now?))

Skeleton: ((After Thurirl))

Thurirl: ((except the ogre doesn’t seem to need buffing… sigh darn it))

Skeleton: ((give the guy a chance to type ))

  • Skeleton 280 saves for « 1d20+7 = 19 + 7 = 26 » vs 16
Grok: ((sorry, I read that as delay, and didn’t know you were typing))
Thurirl: ((I am terrible at thinking things up ahead of time…))

Grok: ((well, things are more complicated for you. I just go and hit stuff))

  • Thurirl was going to buff the ogre… but he was too impatient. However, Jess seems to need help with that skeleton behind her…
  • Thurirl fires off three rays of intense heat, burning into his targets with the fury of his magic!
    (Casting Check: « 1d20+14 = 12 + 14 = 26 » Damage: Ray 1: « 4d4 = 9 » Ray 2: « 4d4 = 8 » Ray 3: « 4d4 = 9 »; AP 5)
    Thurirl: ((Skele 848))

Skeleton: ((narrow line of sight, but it works…going to move at all?))

  • Skeleton 848 saves for « 1d20+7 = 5 + 7 = 12 » vs 14
    Seiankornai: ((he did move))
  • Skeleton 506 loses the barrier between himself and the invisible caster at the door, and must save for « 1d20+7 = 11 + 7 = 18 » vs 14
    Skeleton: …and « 1d20+7 = 3 + 7 = 10 » vs 18

Skeleton: ((my mistake))

Malaina notices that Grok has cleared the entryway…
Thurirl: ((s’okay))

Seiankornai: “After you.”

Malaina: ((Thats as far as I can go honestly))

Skeleton: ((double move you mean?))

Grok has received initiative.
Seiankornai has received initiative.
Skeleton: ((or do you have an action left?))

Malaina: « 1d20+11 = 6 + 11 = 17 » Halberd; AP 5, Reach +1,Trip, Bleed, Hook, 19-20 Threat (17-20 for Favored Foes), Skull Crack: If the target is a standard character with a lower Wisdom score than yours, he immediately fails his Damage save (damage isn’t rolled). You may use this trick once per round. @ 827

Malaina: ((And I am done))

Skeleton: ((You can move through allies at will; enemies not so much))

Malaina’s halberd attack misses
Skeleton: ((that means: Vari 2 can’t go there, he is stopped by the skeletons. Seinakorni wait.))

Seiankornai: ((how’s his acrobatics?))

Malaina: ((Forget it))

Skeleton: ((You can take a path that doesn’t go through skeletons, of you can roll acrobatics, either way. You just can’t go through them at will.))

Skeleton: ((…OK, if both Varis are going to wait on Malaina that works too. You sure you want them to wait?))

Malaina: ((I’ll wait when there is more room to manuever))

  • Seiankornai moves up, stepping around his allies and getting to a formerly occupied corner of the room. (double move) An errant claw ‘accidentally’ lands on a nearby skeleton (contempt attack)
    Claw hits « 1d20+12 = 8 + 12 = 20 » for « 1d8+8 = 2 + 8 = 10 » damage, Threat 17-20, AP 1
    Seiankornai: ((done))
  • Skeleton 795 saves for « 1d20+7 = 12 + 7 = 19 » vs 15
  • Wight breaths a stream of chill air in the direction of the living. Grok must make a fort save vs 15
  • Skeleton will go while Grok looks up his save
    Grok: « 1d20+9 = 11 + 9 = 20 » fort
  • Skeleton attacks: no372 against Seian « 1d20+13 = 17 + 13 = 30 »,

    no 827 against Grok « 1d20+13 = 12 + 13 = 25 »
  • Jessaila will parry the attack aimed at her (use Parry to reduce damage to 0.)
  • Jessaila parries the strike with her saber. « 1d20+9 = 3 + 9 = 12 » versus attack roll to reduce damage to 0.
    Jessaila: ((Apparently not. Hit then.))

Grok: 2 hits on Grok

Skeleton: Skeleton damage: no372 against Seian « 1d8+2 = 4 + 2 = 6 », no748 against Seian « 1d8+2 = 1 + 2 = 3 »,

Jamshid wanders down the stairs, wondering what kind of trouble the ogre has found now, and if he will actually have to do anything about it this time.
Jamshid par-Bahadur has received initiative.
Isabis has received initiative.

  • Skeleton approaches the door, then pauses to cast « 1d20+14 = 19 + 14 = 33 » animate dead on the skeleton between Jess and Seian
    Seiankornai: (( O_O uh oh))

Seiankornai: ((oh, is that Isabis?))

Grok: ((yes))

Skeleton: ((er, yes. Sorry. Always with forgetting the nick))

Grok: ((necromancer that she is

Seiankornai: (whew, for a moment there I thought we had self replicating skeletons))

Isabis: ((Moru gave me this stupid…er, unusual spell for a reason, right?))

Malaina has received initiative.
Malaina: « 1d20+11 = 18 + 11 = 29 » Halberd; AP 5, Reach +1,Trip, Bleed, Hook, 19-20 Threat (17-20 for Favored Foes), Skull Crack @ 827

Malaina: ((Will forgo using a AD))

Malain cracks skeleton skull
Malaina: ((Hmmm, could I move between the two skellies?))

Grok: ((so I can make cracks about you controlling the undead

Skeleton: ((you mean onto the dead one’s space? Sure, it’s dead, it can’t stop you ))

Malaina: ((And done))

Skeleton: ((that’s only a 5’ step, you could attack again if you want))

Seiankornai: ((coudl we get rid of the dead skeletons?))

Seiankornai: ((the tokens are just clutter now))

Malaina: ((Oh, ok)) Malaina: « 1d20+11 = 20 + 11 = 31 » Halberd; AP 5, Reach +1,Trip, Bleed, Hook, 19-20 Threat (17-20 for Favored Foes) @ 590

Skeleton: ((actually, they’re useful for reminding me to give you XP ))

Seiankornai: ((nice!!)

Malaina: ((Spending that AD))

Seiankornai: ((I don’t mean to delete them, just move them off to the side))

Malaina: ((And yay, it is one of her favored foes)) Malaina: ((And now I am done))

Grok: ((quick, copy them to add more exp!))

Jessaila has received initiative.

  • Jessaila uses the point of her saber to scoop up the skull of her last opponent… and then she smashes it in the face of her closest foe.
Skeleton: ((I have agreed that when bearing a skull, the saber counts as a blunt(ed) weapon))

Seiankornai: ((clever))

Jessaila: “Skeletons are never good at fighting face to face.”

Isabis: “There is nothing they do well in the flesh…”
  • Jessaila strikes with her saber like a club. « 1d20+7 = 4 + 7 = 11 » to hit, « 1d10 = 8 » for damage.
    Grok: ((no bones about it.))

Dragonhawk: (miss)

Jessaila: ((Hm. Can I use an AD to maybe get it, or is the bar too high?))

Dragonhawk: ((it’d have to explode))

Jessaila: ((I suppose I can attack again, then.)

Dragonhawk: ((yes))

  • Jessaila has another go.
    Jessaila: « 1d20+7 = 5 + 7 = 12 » to hit, « 1d10 = 8 » for damage.

Jessaila: ((Pfft.))

Dragonhawk: ((…the dice have the players Extra tonight))

Thurirl has received initiative.
Dragonhawk: ((also BRB))

  • Thurirl notes it is getting a bit crowded in the doorway…
Seiankornai: ((battle excited drakes are eager to get in for some fun!))

Grok: working on making some room

Grok: Thurirl, you doing anything?

Seiankornai: ((GM is not yet back))

Seiankornai: ((but sounds like she’s coming))

Dragonhawk: ((yes I am))

Malaina: ((wb))

Dragonhawk: ((ty))

Thurirl: ((sooo… can I move to the left of Malaina without being seen?)) Malaina: ((If you can squeeze through))

Dragonhawk: ((depends on your sneak roll I guess ))

Thurirl: ((a +13 bonus should nullify all but the worst rolls…))

Seiankornai: ((roll the sneaky!))

  • Thurirl attempts to sneak through the crowd unnoticed, at least by the enemy…
    Thurirl: Sneak: « 1d20+13 = 13 + 13 = 26 »

Neither the skeletons nor the Wight are sufficiently obserervant to see Thurirl even if they weren’t distracted
Dragonhawk: (neither has a +6 to notice)

Dragonhawk: ((so yes, Thurirl can move unseen wherever he can move ))

Thurirl: ((well… let’s make it a double move then so they don’t see the spells coming at them…)) Thurirl: ((unless that requires another roll, I should be done)) Thurirl: ((Grok, be a dear and thin out the skeletons for me? I want a shot at that Wight…))

Seiankornai: ((it doesn’t))

Dragonhawk: ((no, that’s good to keep you unobserved until you attack or otherwise do something unignorable))

Grok has received initiative.
Seiankornai: ((your Ghost MAstery specifically allos you to mvoe double your speed with a single hide check))

Thurirl: ((“I am the terror that flaps in the…” Wait, no, wrong superhero…))

Skeleton: ((hmm…and here we are at the bottom of initiative, too.))

Skeleton: ((DOES anyone want to activate that fumble?))

Jessaila: ((I will.))

Seiankornai: ((what will we get for the 1-4 dice?))

Thurirl: ((I can’t stay up late anyhow… Dad’s draggin’ me to a breakfast… at 6:30))

Seiankornai: ((ouch))

Malaina: ((Geez, where are you going?))

Seiankornai: ((the food better be worth it!))

Thurirl: ((Damn straight it better be worth it. My usual wake-up time is 08:00!)) Thurirl: ((oh yeah… and another friggin’ lawn to mow…)) Thurirl: ((I think Dad’s trying to kill me =P))

Grok: good for you. If it doesn’t kill you, you will be stonger

Grok: *stronger

Skeleton: 1 die: skeleton whacks Seian’s impenetrable …spikes? …so hard it damages itself 1d4
2 dice: skeleton hits Sein in …and I mean IN the mouth. Seian accidentally grapples the stupid thing, as it gets itself hung up on his teeth
3 dice: Skeleton moves so fast it bellows up the cinders left over from almost catching on fire, and bursts into flame along with its space. Flames do 10 damage, as though it had caught on fire in the first place

Malaina: ((I like 3!)) Thurirl: ((I’ll contribute))

Grok is disconnected.
The floor of this room is littered with rotten …you don’t want to think about it too much…and gear, and old bones, only some of which got up to attack you in the first place.
Just so you know
Skeleton: ((So far, we have a skeleton caught on Seinkornai’s teeth))

Malaina: ((Who all is contributing?)) Malaina: ((Cause I will so we can see it burst into flame))

Seiankornai: ((I’ll contribute one))

Seiankornai: ((though what would we get for four?))

Skeleton: ((so Malaina, Thurirl, and Seiankornai.))

Jessaila: ((I’ve contributed one, too.))

Malaina: ((So 4, something very awesome?))

Skeleton: ((…I can’t think of a better one than “spontaneously bursts into flame” ))

Thurirl: ((One of the bones pops off and bonks an enemy in the head?)) Malaina: ((burst into flame and take another one down with it?))

Skeleton: ((LOL OK, for 4 dice, it bursts into flame along with it’s square, and flails around knocking the next one over into Seian’s open mouth where it gets hung up on the poor drake’s teeth.))

Malaina: ((Haha, nice!))
  • Thurirl is not sure what just happened over on the other side of the room… but he’s sure it’s quite amusing.
Seiankornai: (("nomnomnom crunch crunch crunch “hmmm, a well preserved flavor, distinctly dwarf, with just enough of a touch of the blacksmith’s forge in it to give it that delightful zing.”))

Skeleton 749 performs an epic fumble, in which it swings so hard it activates the embers of it’s near-immolate moments before and bursts into flame….drops some on the detritus below, igniting the pile…and unbalances it’s neighbor…who gets the double-arm-bones hung up on the eyeteeth of the surprised Seiankornai, who the first skeleton otherwise completely missed.
